There are a lot of doomsday types about at the moment pointing to all of the natural disasters, middle eastern uprisings and the various financial crises, and saying "the end of the world is nigh".
But what is really going on?
Could it simply be that mother nature has had enough of our abuse and is pushing back? And with the vast improvement (?) in global communications in recent times, that people in dictator-run countries have been able to discover "how the other half live" and are pushing for a similar lifestyle? And through those same global communications, we have discovered how fickle the economies of the "super powers" really are, and the rest of the world has found out that our economic feet are really made of clay?
Maybe it's not the end of the world so much, as a redressing of the balance? Wouldn't it be incredible if through all of this trouble and strife, we as global citizens could pull together as a planet and really work on this whole world peace/end poverty idea?
Well - you are reading a blog entitled Randomness ;-)
